Don't Let the Pigeon.....stories by Mo Willems....drawings by kids
Kathy Cothran
Printer-Friendly Format

Children love the books by Mo Willems. Even though his books have been Caldecott Award winners, his characters are still easy and fun to draw on the computer.

Using an easy drawing program such as KidPix, children can recreate the characters from all of the Pigeon books.

I use the cover art to help me follow along. I first draw the pigeon's head, followed by his neck, highlighting that his neck goes into his back as the letter L. Then we connect the tail to the other neck line, add some simple legs and feet, and color him in! Great for children to be able to recreate award winning art so easily.
