How to Cook a Turkey.....
Kathy Cothran
Printer-Friendly Format

Isn't it amazing how great the turkey tastes once the dinner is all ready? Write the directions for cooking a turkey. List the ingredients you need, the oven temperature, and amount of time for cooking.

Most kids are familiar with the EATING of the turkey, but not so much with the COOKING of the turkey! It is fun to brainstorm and gather ideas about how the turkey is cooked and then set the kids out to make a recipe book. I like to tell them that I need their help this year and I'll be using the most complete recipe to help me make dinner for my family!

Great Fun! You can find the worksheet for students to use in the Thanksgiving Activity packet found in the download section! http://www.mastermindgroupofeducators.com/members/programs/fileinfo.cfm?id=13&action=display

This sample piece of work was done by a second grader.
